Crane-Assisted Tree Removal in Northwest Georgia
Some trees have nowhere to go. A large hardwood over a roof, a pine in a fenced back yard with no gate, or a tree between a house and a pool has no safe drop zone. Crane-assisted removal lifts sections up and out instead.
Tony's Landscape & Tree Service offers crane services as part of its tree work in Northwest Georgia.

When a crane makes sense
A crane is used when the pieces coming off a tree cannot be lowered by rope over what is underneath, or when moving material through a yard would tear up landscaping and drives. Sections are rigged, cut, picked and set down in a clear area for processing.
It is not the right tool for every job. Whether a crane helps depends on where the equipment can set up, what is overhead and how the tree is built. That gets decided in person during the estimate.
Trees that often call for crane work
- Large trees directly over a house or garage
- Trees in fenced back yards with no equipment access
- Trees over pools, patios, decks or finished landscaping
- Storm-damaged trees that are loaded and unpredictable
- Multiple large removals where hauling by hand would be slow and damaging
- Trees between structures with no drop zone at all
What a crane removal may involve
- Looking at set-up space, overhead clearance and ground conditions first
- Protecting drives and lawn areas where equipment sets up
- Rigging and cutting sections so each pick is controlled
- Setting sections in a clear area for cutting and chipping
- Hauling wood and brush off the property
- Stump grinding and cleanup after the tree is down
Residential and commercial work
Crane work is common on tight residential lots and older neighborhoods where large hardwoods sit close to houses.
Crane-assisted removals also suit commercial sites where trees sit over buildings, parking or access drives.
Crane Services questions
- Why use a crane instead of climbing?
- When there is no safe place for limbs to land, a crane lifts them out instead of lowering them over a roof, pool or fence. It also cuts down on dragging material across a yard.
- Will a crane damage my yard?
- Set-up areas are chosen with ground conditions in mind and drives can be protected. We talk through where equipment will sit before the day of the job.
- Is crane removal more expensive?
- Not always. A crane can shorten a job that would otherwise take days by hand, and it reduces the risk of damage. Pricing is given in the estimate either way.
- Can you get a crane into a back yard?
- Sometimes the crane can reach over a house from the street or drive without entering the yard at all. We check reach and set-up during the estimate.
- Do you handle storm-damaged trees with a crane?
- Yes. Loaded and partially failed trees are often safer to take apart with a crane holding the weight.
- How do I find out if my tree needs a crane?
