Land Clearing in Rome, GA & Northwest Georgia
Overgrown land is hard to use and hard to see. Clearing opens a lot back up — whether that is a few acres of brush and briars, a build site, a pasture edge or a back section that has grown in over the years.
Tony's combines tree work and dirt work, which means clearing, hauling and grading can be handled by the same company.

What land clearing covers
Clearing can mean anything from knocking down undergrowth and small trees to taking out mature timber and grinding stumps so a site can be graded. Most jobs are somewhere in between: brush, vines, saplings and a handful of larger trees.
How much you clear depends on what the land is for. A lot being prepared for a building pad gets cleared and graded. A back section being opened up for a pasture, food plot or view usually keeps the larger trees and loses the undergrowth.
Common reasons for clearing land
- Preparing a lot for a house, shop, barn or drive
- Opening up an overgrown section of a property
- Clearing fence lines and property boundaries
- Removing brush, briars and saplings from pasture edges
- Creating space for a garden, pasture or food plot
- Cleaning up land after storm damage or years of neglect
What a clearing project may involve
- Walking the property and agreeing on exactly what stays and what goes
- Marking boundaries so clearing stops where it should
- Cutting and removing trees, then handling brush and undergrowth
- Grinding or removing stumps where the ground needs to be usable
- Hauling debris off or consolidating it on site as agreed
- Rough or finish grading once the area is clear
Residential and commercial work
Residential clearing is often a back yard, a wooded side lot or a home site being prepared for construction.
Larger acreage and commercial site clearing is also handled, with grading and gravel work available as part of the same project.
Land Clearing questions
- Can land clearing make an overgrown property usable again?
- Yes. Most overgrown lots come back quickly once brush, vines and saplings are removed and the ground is graded and seeded or hydroseeded.
- Do you take out the stumps too?
- That depends on the plan for the land. Areas being built on, graded or mowed usually need stumps ground or dug out. Wooded areas being thinned may not.
- What happens to the debris?
- Debris is hauled off or consolidated on site, depending on the property and what you prefer. We agree on that before work starts.
- Can you clear a fence line?
- Yes. Fence lines and boundary clearing are common jobs, and Tony's also installs fencing.
- Do I need to mark the property lines?
- Knowing where your lines are before clearing starts is important. If they are not obvious, get them located — we clear to the boundaries you show us.
- Can you seed the ground after clearing?
- Yes. Hydroseeding, seeding or sod can follow grading so bare ground establishes grass and holds soil.
