Tree Removal in Rome, GA & Northwest Georgia
A tree that is dead, split, leaning over a roof or growing too close to a house is a problem that only gets more expensive the longer it stands. Tony's Landscape & Tree Service has been removing trees in Rome and the surrounding Northwest Georgia counties since 1982.
Removals are quoted in person and at no charge, so you know the price before any work starts.

What tree removal covers
Tree removal means taking the whole tree down and hauling off the wood and brush, rather than pruning it back. Depending on what is around the tree, that can mean felling it in one piece in an open yard, or dismantling it in sections from the top down when there is a house, fence, driveway, pool or power service underneath.
Stumps are handled separately. Most property owners have the stump ground down after the removal so the area can be graded, sodded or replanted.
Common reasons property owners remove a tree
- The tree is dead, hollow or dropping large limbs
- It leans toward a house, garage, driveway or fence line
- Storm damage split the trunk or tore out major limbs
- Roots are lifting a driveway, walkway or foundation area
- It shades out a lawn, garden or septic field
- A building project, addition or new driveway needs the space
What a tree removal project may involve
- Looking at the tree, the lean, the drop zone and access before pricing the job
- Protecting nearby structures, landscaping and drives during the take-down
- Rigging and lowering sections when the tree cannot be safely felled whole
- Cutting the trunk into manageable lengths and chipping the brush
- Hauling material off and raking the work area when the job is finished
- Grinding the stump and bringing in dirt if the area needs to be leveled
Residential and commercial work
Most removals are residential — hardwoods over rooflines, pines along a driveway, or a row of trees along a back property line.
Tony's also handles tree work on commercial and rental property, including parking areas, storage lots and buildings that need trees cleared away from a structure. Commercial jobs are quoted the same way, in person.
Tree Removal questions
- How do I know if a tree needs to come down?
- Bare limbs during the growing season, mushrooms or soft wood at the base, a fresh lean with soil lifting on one side, or a split in a main fork are all reasons to have a tree looked at. Tony's will come out, look at it and tell you what the tree needs.
- Do you grind the stump too?
- Yes. Stump grinding is offered as part of a removal or as a separate job later on. Let us know when we price the removal so it is included in the estimate.
- Can you remove a tree close to my house?
- Yes. Trees that are tight to a structure are dismantled in sections and lowered rather than dropped. Where access allows, crane work can shorten the job and reduce what has to be moved through the yard.
- What happens to the wood and brush?
- Brush is chipped and hauled off. Trunk wood is removed unless you would like it cut to length and left on site — just tell us before the crew starts.
- Do you charge for an estimate?
- No. Estimates are free. Call (706) 676-0193 or send the free estimate form and we will set up a time to look at the tree.
- How far do you travel for tree removal?
- Tony's is based in Rome and works throughout Northwest Georgia, including Cartersville, Calhoun and Dallas.
